Resource Education Software – EAL/Gaelic

Trevor Millum, author and Educational Consultant for Resource Education, visited Highland today to show Resource Education’s software to the Gaelic and ICT Training Support teams.

Their Talk-2-Talk software series is aimed at the early years and introdcuces children to a range of basic ICT skills in an interactive and educationally stimulating way. The software has many features while leaving control of the teaching to the teacher.

The key feature, however, and the reason for our interest in this software is that it supports a number of languages other than English, including French, Gujarati, Polish, Punjabi, Spanish, Urdu, Welsh. The speech and text can be chosen alongside a second language to provide translation – or confirmation – of what’s been heard and read. We’re looking into the possibility of providing the translations for Resource Education to enable the production of Gaelic versions of the software.
